It will begin with a service to Edinburgh… This is your sign from the powers that be (and us) that you should book a holiday: Emirates has announced that its first Airbus A350 will take-off in January 2025.

Emirates has taken delivery of its first Airbus A350 aircraft, which will be operated on both medium and long-haul routes from January 2025. The carrier’s A350-900 features three cabin classes, with 32 seats in business class, 21 in premium economy and 259 seats in economy class.

After considerable delays, which seems to be the norm nowadays, Emirates finally took delivery of its first of 65 Airbus A350-900s on November 25. The aircraft, which is registered A6-EXA, left Toulouse at 17:00 and, following an unusual route, arrived in Dubai 7h 17m later at 03:17 local time the next day.

Gulf carrier Emirates will bring forward its daily A350 scheduled service to Edinburgh. It will kick off the new year with A350 Edinburgh flights from 3 January 2025. Emirates A350 service will also be rolled out to eight other destinations including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kuwait, Bahrain, Colombo, Lyon, Muscat and Bologna, with more to follow.
