Matthews took the ice for the first time in a week following a trip to Germany to see a doctor he had seen before.

Matthew will end up missing more than two weeks, at the very least, with a chance to play next on Wednesday against Vegas.

Maple Leafs General manager Brad Treliving said following Tuesday’s practice that Auston Matthews, out day-to-day since Nov. 5 with an undisclosed upper-body injury, is in Germany to see a doctor the star center has worked with in the past.
