Aerospace giant Boeing filed a notice Wednesday with Missouri’s Office of Workforce Development that it will lay off nearly 700 workers in the state at the start of next year.

SEATTLE - Boeing issued lay off notices to 692 workers in Missouri, home to the company's Defense, Space & Security division, according to a federally-required filing posted on Wednesday, as part of the debt-heavy U.

Missouri U.S. Senator Josh Hawley is critical of aerospace manufacturer Boeing for its plans to lay off nearly 700 Missouri workers beginning in January. He said the decision is unfair to Missourians losing jobs when company executives get paid so much while “running the company into the ground.
