The Jacksonville Jaguars are now trying to cut their roster down from 90 players to 53 before the start of the regular season.
After an influx of new players in the offseason the Jaguars will certainly have a new look in 2025. There are 24 new names in the 53-man final roster projection, including six offensive linemen, two running backs, two tight ends, and four defensive linemen.
The Jaguars had a few obvious names on the inactive list such as key starters like Trevor Lawrence, Brian Thomas, Josh Hines-Allen, Travon Walker and so forth. But there were a couple of names who were not on the list who, while perhaps active, were not listed as such because they had to fight for a spot on the roster.
Lawrence is now entering a pivotal campaign in 2025 in which he really needs to start living up to his lofty expectations. Not only was he considered a generational talent when the Jaguars took him No. 1 overall in 2022, but Jacksonville also handed him a $275 million contract extension last summer.
