Just three days after New York City FC were eliminated from the MLS Cup playoffs, the club parted ways with Nick Cushing. Cushing led NYCFC to a sixth place finish in the Eastern Conference, ending the regular season with 50 points.

Coach Nick Cushing was fired by New York City FC on Tuesday, three days after a 2-0 loss to the rival New York Red Bulls in Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference semifinals. Cushing became the 11th coach among the 29 MLS teams to depart since the start of the 2024 season.
