The DFL's move to revoke the endorsement of state Sen. Omar Fateh by the local Minneapolis party unit for the city's mayoral race has sparked backlash.

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) criticized the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party on Thursday for revoking its endorsement of Omar Fateh for mayor of Minneapolis. In a statement co-signed by over a dozen other local DFL elected officials,

Fateh, a democratic socialist, won the Minneapolis DFL endorsement in July over Mayor Jacob Frey. Though his victory raised his profile in the race, it also drew dozens of challenges from his opponents over allegations of delays and miscounted votes.
