Oz has made his preference known for privatized Medicare, which could substantially disrupt the current system.

Dr. Oz, Trump's pick to run the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, has been a vocal proponent of expanding Medicare Advantage, the insurance plans sold by private companies.

What you might expect from Oz if he runs Medicare, Medicaid, and management of the Affordable Care Act at the 6,000-person CMS.

There is still the possibility that some aspects of Medicare Part D could change through a regulatory process, says University of Pennsylvania health law and policy professor Allison Hoffman, but that too is a rigorous procedure—and attacking Medicare would also be a risky political move.
