A body was found off Ocean Beach during the search for missing kayaker Danny Marron, identity pending confirmation.

Last Friday, a kayaker from Arizona went missing while on the water near Mission Beach. Danny Marron's snapped-in-half kayak washed ashore but Marron was not located, despite a three-day search that the U.S. Coast Guard called off on Monday.

A man's body was found in Ocean Beach Wednesday afternoon, hours after a surfer told police he had spotted remains in the water.

An investigation is underway after a man’s body washed ashore and was recovered by lifeguards near the Ocean Beach Pier Wednesday afternoon, San Diego Fire-Rescue Department officials said.
