Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Saturday claimed the domestic radical opposition forces were behind “all violent groups that were acting” the previous days at the protest rallies outside the Parliament building in central Tbilisi against the Government’s decision to suspend the country’s European Union accession talks until 2028.

Georgia has suspended its bid to join the European Union, prompting thousands of protesters to take to the streets, where they clashed with police in the capital of Tbilisi.

Thousands of citizens gathered in Tbilisi on Friday to express their dissatisfaction with the Georgian government's current actions. The protests were in response to the authorities' decision to halt negotiations on joining the European Union.
