Tropical system could develop in Caribbean this weekend
Channel 9 meteorologists are monitoring several active tropical systems. One area being watched could develop this weekend in the Western Caribbean. The area could then drift north and into the Gulf of Mexico.
All quiet in the tropics, but we’re monitoring the Caribbean and Gulf
Currently, there are no named tropical cyclones to track in the tropics. What was Tropical Storm Gordon at one point has fizzled out for now, but there’s a moderate chance it could re-develop in the coming days in the Atlantic. Regardless, it’ll remain a “fish storm” as it stays away from land.

Tropical development is possible in the western Caribbean or Gulf of Mexico over the next 4-7 days. If low pressure forms, it may strengthen quickly and potentially track into the Gulf of Mexico.
