Outfielder Travis Jankowski has agreed to a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox after opting out a minor league deal with the Cubs

Travis Jankowski, who signed a minor league deal with the Cubs last month after two seasons in Texas, has opted out and instead has reached a deal with the White Sox.

The Cubs’ preparation for the upcoming Tokyo Series began before the players were required to show up for Spring Training. Pitchers began ramping up earlier than usual, understanding that their season would begin in mid-March.

The Chicago Cubs are close to establishing their 40-man roster after 11 roster moves to Triple-A or minor league camps.

"I’ve been preparing for this opportunity for my entire life," the 23-year-old Shaw said of making Chicago's travel roster.
