TIYAN, Guam(AP) — A typhoon in Micronesia is expected to gain strength this weekend and move northwest toward Guam, prompting the U.S. Coast Guard to issue warnings about flooding and high winds.
National Weather Service forecasters said that Typhoon Mawar brought winds of at least 105 mph to northern sections of Guam on Wednesday. The typhoon knocked out power to much of the U.S. territory.
