The Lions enter Sunday looking to extend their league point streak to three, also having beaten Tottenham Hotspur in the third round of the FA Cup last weekend. Aston Villa does have notable wins over Chelsea and Manchester United, but its 4-1 loss to Arsenal last month shows the club has some work to do.
There is still plenty of work to be done, however. Manchester City and Aston Villa slipped up against Manchester United and Everton respectively but they remain in close pursuit, trailing Arsenal by six and seven points respectively.
The 2025-26 Premier League table is live, as 19 teams hope to be the one that denies Liverpool repeat status as champions of England's top tier. Yes, the 10-month grind that is the Premier League season began on August 15 and will not stop until we've determined the league champions, top four, and relegation places.
The Premier League season continues on Saturday as Tottenham welcomes West Ham to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for an all-London clash.
