The sky has been falling for a while on the north side of Chicago. Fans are unhappy and, on occasion, booing in Wrigley Field. After all, the Cubs had a 6 ½-game lead in the NL Central after beating the Brewers on June 17, humming along with one of the best offenses in baseball.

Michael Busch hit a three-run double off Jacob Misiorowski, and the Chicago Cubs beat the Milwaukee Brewers 4-3 on Wednesday night for their third consecutive victory over the NL Central leaders. Matt Shaw added a solo homer as Chicago won for the fifth time in six games.

The Chicago Cubs gave the Wrigley faithful plenty of reasons to voice their displeasure in an uninspired 7-0 loss to Milwaukee in Game 1 of the planned doubleheader.
