Siemens has received notification from the US government allowing it to resume sales of chip design software to China, the German technology company said, as a trade deal between Washington and Beijing takes effect.

The U.S. government has rescinded its export restrictions on chip design software to China, U.S.-based Synopsys announced.

U.S. chip design software developers said they have received notices lifting restrictions on exports to China, in a signal that the two largest economies had settled a dispute over rare earths that had undermined a trade deal reached in May.
