Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Jaydon Blue hopes to be ready for the team's season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles after sustaining a low-ankle sprain, ESPN reported on Sunday. Blue had nine carries for 25 yards and a touchdown in Dallas' 31-13 victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Friday before exiting with an ankle injury in the fourth quarter.

In the Cowboys' win, Blue recorded 25 yards in his preseason debut. While finishing second on the team in carries, Blue averaged 2.8 yards per carry. The only other Cowboys player who saw more action out of the backfield was Deuce Vaughn, who finished with ten carries. However, Blue, unlike Vaughn, was able to find the end zone once.
