DC fans have hilariously thanked former “Black Adam” actor Dwayne Johnson for James Gunn’s “Superman” success, which opened nationally in theaters Friday and raked in the year’s best box office preview total with $22.5 million.
Superman was released in a few countries on Wednesday, and the numbers have started to roll in. It looks to be a triumphant success for DC.

A period story about a metahuman from 100, 200, or 300 years ago is perfectly acceptable. This opens up possibilities for different sorts of stories in a way that the MCU has largely had to rely on the multiverse to tell.
