Rockies take Ethan Holliday, son of franchise great

Ethan Holliday was almost 8 months old when his father, Matt Holliday, and his big brother, Jackson – then 4 years old but aware – were on the infield at Coors Field celebrating the Rockies’ qualification for the 2007 World Series.
The Colorado Rockies drafted the son of Matt Holiday and the brother of Baltimore Orioles second baseman Jackson Holiday with the No. 4 overall pick on Sunday. Holliday was a standout infielder for Stillwater High School and now will look to continue his family's legacy.
The St. Louis Cardinals likely won't get a chance at Ethan Holliday in the MLB Draft, but that could be a blessing, and Matt Holliday knows it.
Holliday is the son of Rockies legend Matt and Orioles young star Jackson. The pitchers on the board are LSU's Kade Anderson, Tennessee's Liam Doyle and Florida State's Jamie Arnold. The Sporting News' final mock draft has Anderson going to the Nats, not Holliday.
