Florida officials on Sunday painted over the rainbow-decorated sidewalk near the site of the 2016 Pulse Nightclub mass shooting — for a second time in the past week, reports say.

The mayor of Orlando, Fla., said that the crosswalk mural, which featured the Pride flag’s colors, was removed overnight this week. Community members protested and have, for now, repainted it.

Orlando officials on Thursday condemned the state’s overnight removal of a rainbow crosswalk outside the Pulse nightclub – a commemoration of the 49 people killed at the LGBTQ-friendly nightclub in 2016.
