Josh Naylor re-signs with Mariners
Digest more
Naylor, now a free agent, is finalizing a new contract with the Mariners, as reported by ESPN's Jeff Passan. The veteran slugger is set to sign a five-year contract to remain in the Pacific Northwest. This makes him the top free agent domino to fall so far. And it was a high-priority move from Seattle.
Naylor helped the Mariners win the AL West and make a run to Game 7 of the ALCS before falling to the Blue Jays. He went 10-for-24 in the series and slashed .340/392/.574 in the playoffs with three home runs and five RBIs.

Naylor stays with Seattle, per report
Naylor has spent the last four seasons as a 2-3 win first baseman. The Guardians traded him to Arizona last offseason for Slade Cecconi, and he was then shipped to Seattle at the deadline for Brandyn Garcia and Ashton Izzi.
The Seattle Mariners’ Cal Raleigh names his clubhouse MVP, praising free agent Josh Naylor in a recent interview.
