Following a nail-biting win at Wrigley Field this weekend, ESPN’s FPI has predicted exactly how the rest of Michigan Football’s 2025 regular season plays out:
Michigan (8-2, 6-1) beat Northwestern at Chicago’s Wrigley Field on Saturday 24-22 with a field goal as time expired. Michigan and Maryland did not meet last year; Michigan has won eight straight in the series, last losing in 2014. After visiting Maryland, the Wolverines will return home for the regular-season finale against Ohio State.
Entering this season, Michigan Wolverines Edge Derrick Moore was a guy who basically had not lived up to the recruiting hype.
No. 18 Michigan had a hiatus from the College Football Playoff last season, but the Wolverines have made three of the last four -- including a 2023 national championship. Heading into the home stretch of the season, the program still has an outside shot to reach the postseason again.
Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore said there was no hesitation to put in his veteran kicker at the end of the game.
For a fourth straight game, Michigan football finds itself a double-digit favorite according to oddsmakers for Saturday’s game at Maryland (4 p.m., Big Ten Network).
No. 18 Michigan committed five turnovers but escaped Northwestern with a 24-22 win thanks to a last-second field goal by Dominic Zvada.
