Amaya went 3-for-4 with a triple, a run scored and two RBI in Monday's 9-2 win over the Athletics. Amaya batted ninth and did his part to contribute to Chicago's 18-hit barrage. The catcher recorded just his second triple of the season and snapped an 0-for-7 slump that extended over his last five appearances.

Amaya has been in a bit of a slump at the plate lately, going just 1-for-21 over his last eight games. The Cubs will instead put Christian Bethancourt behind the plate Saturday in an effort to find some offensive production from their catcher.
