The Philadelphia 76ers have faced significant challenges during the 2024-25 NBA season, with much of the blame falling on their star players, Joel Embiid and Paul George. Both players have now opened up about the issues affecting their performances.

Philadelphia 76ers beat writer Keith Pompey believes that the decision to shelf both Joel Embiid and Paul George for the season makes sense.

Philadelphia's big three of Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and Paul George struggled once again, and none eclipsed 20 points. Embiid in particular struggled, scoring 15 points and grabbing three rebounds in 27 minutes of action. He went just 3-for-9 from the field and scored nine of his 15 points at the free-throw line.

George said he won’t shy away from the challenge of playing with Embiid. The 34-year-old said he looks forward to challenges, so he’s going to embrace this one and try to figure it out. The duo is trying to figure out a way to get George involved through more communication throughout games.

Originally drafted 23rd overall by the 76ers in 2022, he was shipped on draft night with Danny Green to Memphis for De’Anthony Melton. Roddy has played 162 games in three seasons with the Grizzlies, Phoenix and Atlanta, averaging 6.3 points and 17.2 minutes. He joins Chuma Okeke on 10-day deals.
