Cynthia Erivo opened up about jumping in to help “Wicked: For Good” co-star Ariana Grande after a fan rushed onto the red carpet during the film’s Singapore premiere last week. During a Screen Actors Guild screening of their new film Sunday, Erivo spoke on the press gauntlet for both “Wicked” films and how it put her and Grande “through some s–t.”

Erivo's comments call back to the "Wicked: For Good" premiere in Singapore Nov. 13, when an Australian man, now identified as Johnson Wen, was caught on viral video running toward her costar Ariana Grande. Grande's castmates, most prominently Erivo, quickly huddled around her and shooed the man off.

Wen, an Australian who posts under the handle “Pyjama Man” on Instagram, has a history of invading celebrity events, such as Katy Perry and The Weeknd’s concerts. He typically records the incidents and posts them to his own social media, which was the case when he went after Grande.
