Rumors about National Weather Service cuts, cloud seeding, rescues and more spread online following the deadly July 2025 floods in central Texas.
Here's what to know about the deadly flooding, the colossal weather system that drove it and ongoing efforts to identify victims.
A flood watch was issued by the NWS Fort Worth TX on Saturday at 11:59 a.m. valid from 1 p.m. until Sunday 7 p.m. The watch is for Johnson, Ellis, Bosque, Hill, Coryell, Bell, McLennan, Falls and Milam counties.
This is false. It is not possible that cloud seeding generated the floods, according to experts, as the process can only produce limited precipitation using clouds that already exist.
"The first lady and I are here in Texas to express the love and support and the anguish of our entire nation in the aftermath of this really horrific and deadly flood," Trump said as he spoke at a roundtable event with first responders and local officials.
