Hours after the Texas House of Representatives passed a revision of the state's congressional districts, voters filed a complaint alleging legislators created "a map that eviscerates minority representation and hands Anglo voters control of an even larger share of Texas' congressional seats."

The Texas Senate approved a bill early on Saturday to redraw the state's congressional maps at the behest of President Donald Trump in an effort to flip five U.S. House seats held by Democrats to Republicans.
