They’re the first American airstrikes reported in Syria this year and the second wave of Operation Hawkeye Strike.
"These strikes are part of Operation Hawkeye Strike, which was launched and announced on Dec. 19, 2025, at the direction of President Trump, in direct response to the deadly ISIS attack on US and Syrian forces in Palmyra, Syria, on Dec. 13, 2025," CENTCOM said in a post on X.
"The United States has long supported efforts to defeat ISIS and promote stability in Syria, including through Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR) and our partnership with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), whose sacrifices have been instrumental in achieving enduring gains against terrorism," he added.
The Supreme Court of India approved on Friday the $2.3-billion takeover by steel giant JSW Steel of Bhushan Power and Steel.
CENTCOM declared that the U.S. and partner forces in Syria killed and captured ISIS figures in the time since a December 19 strike in Syria.
