Rangers have appointed their former captain Barry Ferguson as interim manager until the end of the season to replace Philippe Clement, the Scottish Premiership side said on Monday.
Rangers are expected to appoint an interim head coach in the coming days following the sacking of Philippe Clement after the 2-0 weekend defeat to St. Mirren. A shock loss at Ibrox Stadium proved to be the final straw for Clement's tenure as the Rangers hierarchy removed him from his role on February 23.
Enterprises reportedly gave Rangers the green light to axe Philippe Clement amid takeover talks. The Belgian boss was shown the door with Barry Ferguson stepping into the hotseat until the end of the season with the Scottish Premiership heavyweights in a state of flux with a mega-money takeover inching closer.
