Tennessee state Sen. Ken Yager was arrested, booked into a Georgia jail Tuesday night and accused of getting into a hit and run while driving under the influence while on vacation on Jekyll Island. Yager, a Republican from Kingston, is chairman of the Senate Republican Caucus.

According to the Glynn County Detention Center information release, Sen. Yager was arrested in their county on Tuesday for charges of DUI, hit and run, and failure to stop at a stop sign. Georgia State Patrol conducted the arrest of the 77-year-old who was released Wednesday.
