Vegas took six minutes in penalties to the Flyers' two and fell into an early 3-0 hole. Off of 31 saves from Ilya Samsonov and a resilient offensive effort, the Golden Knights escaped Philly with a 5-4 win in a shootout, but flaws were abundant.

Jack Eichel got the lone goal in the shootout and the Vegas Golden Knights overcame a three-goal deficit to defeat the Philadelphia Flyers 5-4 on Monday night. Ilya Samsonov followed up a 32-save performance by stopping all three shootout attempts.

The Flyers lead 3-0 early in the second period before Vegas, who entered the game scoring fourth most goals per game in the NHL, roared back.
