Yellowstone National Park has recorded the year’s first violent encounter between a visitor and bison, just weeks into the busy summer season.

A bison gored a man in Yellowstone National Park on Sunday after the man approached the animal, according to the National Park Service. The man, 47, who is from Cape Coral, Fla., sustained minor injuries and was treated by emergency medical staff.
