According to the National Hurricane Center’s 11 am Friday advisory, Category 4 Hurricane Kirk is 975 miles east-northeast of the Northern Leeward Islands and 1655 miles west-southwest of the Azores, with maximum sustained wind of 140 mph. It’s moving 12 mph to the northwest.
