Tropical Storm Fernand is continue to strengthen over the open waters of the Atlantic, but weakening is set to begin on Tuesday. FOX Weather Meteorologist Britta Merwin has the latest on Aug. 25, 2025.

The storm is moving toward the north-northeast near 12 mph and this motion is expected to continue for the next day or so, followed by a turn to the northeast, according to the hurricane center. Fernand is expected to begin weakening on Monday night, Aug. 25, and is expected to become post-tropical by Wednesday, Aug. 27.
