Salt Lake County Health Dept warns of West Nile virus in local mosquitoes, urges residents to take precautions.

The Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC) has announced that two mosquito test samples obtained from Hyde Park and West Roxbury tested positive for West Nile Virus (WNV). The virus is carried by mosquitoes and can be spread to humans through the bite of an infected mosquito.

Local mosquito management got a major upgrade in its ability to monitor and mitigate West Nile virus in mosquito populations.

A Fort Collins resident is confirmed to be Larimer County’s first case of West Nile virus this year and the third human case reported in Colorado.
