SAN FRANCISCO – President Donald Trump on Wednesday signed an executive order calling for the swift elimination of the Presidio Trust, the federal agency that political rival Nancy Pelosi helped establish in 1996 to oversee The Presidio of San Francisco. The 1,500-acre park is jointly managed by the trust and the National Park Service.

An executive order by President Donald Trump is targeting the Presidio Trust, the federal agency that manages San Francisco's historic and cherished Presidio National Park, calling it "unnecessary."

An executive order from the president also took aim at three independent agencies that promote peace abroad and work on development in Latin American and Africa.
