Decorated Long Island Police Officer Brendon Gallagher is fighting for his life following a high-speed pursuit that ended in a violent crash.

A Long Island police officer was hospitalized in the ICU following a Sunday night crash when the driver of a speeding Mustang clipped the cop and sent his cruiser flipping off the highway, according to county officials.

Officer Brendon Gallagher survived the stabbing, but was critically hurt Sunday when a suspect crashed into his vehicle, officials said.

A Suffolk County police officer suffered serious injuries in a crash on the Long Island Expressway and was assisted by off-duty officers from Nassau County, police said.

The operator of the vehicle, Cody Fisher, was apprehended by an off-duty Nassau County Police Officer who was passing at the time of the incident. Gallagher was taken via police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition with a torn aorta and split abodmen. He is currently on life support.
