Chicagoans can expect a chilly Thanksgiving holiday weekend, with a chance of rain or snow overnight Wednesday. Temperatures for Turkey Day itself are expected to be in the upper 30s, with a predicted high of 40 degrees,

According to the National Weather Service, in fact, "waves of snow" will potentially settle on Chicago starting Tuesday night through Thanksgiving Day, on Thursday. Although the models aren't yet clear—exact potentially impacted areas have not been determined—the mere chance of some powder will undoubtedly affect the busy holiday period.

Chicago-area roadways are expected to be packed Wednesday as many drivers hit the road to make their Thanksgiving destinations.
