Sunday’s 22-19 loss to the Broncos on Wil Lutz’s 35-yard field goal as time expired makes a record-tying 10th straight division crown a long shot. The Chiefs are currently out of playoff position; they haven’t missed the postseason since 2014.
Through 10 games, Mahomes has thrown for 18 touchdowns against six interceptions. It's been a bit of a bounce-back year for the star quarterback, as he's on pace to throw for more touchdowns compared to each of the past two seasons.
Patrick Mahomes celebrated his best friend and teammate Travis Kelce after he broke the Kansas City Chiefs' all-time touchdown record during their game against the Denver Broncos on Nov. 16.
The Chiefs went three-and-out on their final two possessions, including one that started with 4:10 to play with the score knotted at 19. Mahomes' first two snaps on the drive were incompletions to Kelce, while Kansas City's third-and-10 opportunity resulted in a sack.
