The B’s received a second-period power-play goal from Elias Lindholm (!) and then relied on Joonas Korpisalo (along with his friend the post) to snap a three-game losing streak,

Joonas Korpisalo stopped 21 shots, Elias Lindholm scored the game’s only goal, and the Boston Bruins beat the Utah Hockey Club 1-0 on Thursday night in their first game since the team fired coach Jim Montgomery and named Joe Sacco as interim coach.

Elias Lindholm, whose offensive woes have been a much-discussed part of the Bruins’ early woes, broke his 17-game goal drought in the second period. On the power play and jammed home the rebound a Brad Marchand shot to put Boston up 1-0 with 7:19 left in the second.

Joe Sacco is undefeated as head coach of the Boston Bruins. In his first game as the man in charge on the Boston bench, Sacco and the Bruins picked up a 1-0 victory over the Utah Hockey Club at TD Garden on Thursday night.
