Kiwi Ranger Toby was recently on Taranaki Mounga monitoring kiwi 'Marshmallow', when he spotted this beautiful whio pair on the Waiongana Stream. Whio are Nationally Vulnerable, and can be quite hard to find in the wild due to their specific habitat requirements (clean, fast-flowing streams and rivers) and their ability to blend in with their environment.
