That zebra foal is hungry! 🦓 Just like human babies, foals rely entirely on their mother’s milk for the first few months of life. It’s packed with all the nutrients they need to boost their immune system, giving them protection from disease during the vulnerable early days. A zebra foal will start nursing within 15 minutes of being born. By the age of 6 to 8 months, the foal begins to eat grass, but still nurses for comfort and nutrition.
