The Best Recipe You’ve Never Heard of is: Danish drømmekage, or “dream cake”! We can thank Nadine Redzepi for her recipe in “Downtime: Deliciousness at Home,” where we first read about it; it’s believed to have been popularized in the 1950s, in Denmark, by a girl who made grandmother’s recipe for a cake-baking contest. Often served to children as an after-school treat, Nadine transformed the recipe into something more suited to adults. It’s not too sweet for Chris Kimball’s effete palate, yet st

✨ From the heart of Denmark comes the drømmekage — the ultimate dream cake! 🇩🇰🍰 A childhood favorite, this fluffy vanilla sponge is topped with a golden caramel-coconut layer that bakes up perfectly crisp. Episode 12 : Around The World in 80 Cakes - Danish Drømmekage aka Dream Cake Woweee wowee WOW. You know after the last cake, I wanted to do the next one immediately just so I was sure this list I’m following was legit and not just a pile of codswallop. When I say this left me speechless. I mean, SPEECHLESS. Was that mostly cause I was busy shovelling it into my pie hole? Yes, but honestly, this was simplicity and easy baking at its best. Sure I muddled and tweaked some of the ingredients and met
