CURLEWS CALLING! Such a privilege to hear curlews calling from the courtyard this morning. I've heard quite a few this year but didn't hear any here last year. I did hear them in the next village up though. So privileged to have such a vast diversity of bird life here. The surrounding land has been farmed for decades to encourage wildlife with plenty of scrapes for birds, long field edges for barn owls, shelter belts, wildflower meadows and wildlife ponds.
